Riverhead Tea Party (2009)
(Taxed Enough Already)
It's all about the taxes.
After a series of actions toward American colonists which included the Stamp Act (1765), the Townsend Acts (1767), and the Boston Massacre (1770), the British had agitated the colonists one too many times.
On December 16th, 1773 after officials in Boston refused to return three shiploads of taxed tea to Britain, a group of colonists boarded the ships and destroyed the tea by throwing it into Boston Harbor.
The Boston Tea Party was a key event in the growth of the American Revolution.
In 2009 a new revolution has begun in 1,500 cities across America. Yes that is correct, 1,500 cities. To recapture the founding spirit of our great nation, Tea Parties are being organized all across America to protest massive government spending and taxation. This movement is aimed at restoring the basic free-market principles our country was built on, as well as adhering to the Constitution which our government is increasingly ignoring.
These founding American principals are also true core Republican principals. Please join us is recapturing that great American revolutionary spirit.
