Hon. Frank Beyrodt, Jr. – Councilman
Frank is part of the third generation of the DeLea Sod Farm family. DeLea grows turf grasses for parks, golf courses, athletic fields, and residential applications. They are the largest grower of bent grasses in the country. Most notably, DeLea is the sod provider to the New York Yankees and Citifield. And, their turf products can be found at Home Depot, Lowes, and garden centers throughout the tri-state region. DeLea started on Long Island in 1928 and has grown through the years adding farm locations in southern New Jersey and Rhode Island.
Frank is past President and executive board member of the Long Island Farm Bureau. He spends much of his time advocating, educating and lobbying for the preservation of farming for future generations. Frank also has served on the Riverhead Town Agricultural Advisory Committee offering his knowledge and expertise regarding zoning and codification of farm related issues. He participates in the Riverhead Town TDR subcommittee. Frank is on the board of directors of Island Harvest, Long Island’s food bank. He chairs their government relations committee and routinely visits Albany to advance the organizations mission to feed Long Islanders in need.
Frank earned his BBA from Pace University’s Lubin School of Business and attained his MA from CW Post, Long Island University with honors. Before joining the family farm, Frank worked at the Manhattan District Attorney’s office for 5 years as a trial preparation assistant.
Frank resides in Baiting Hollow. At home with his wife Laura, they raise their three children Max, Austin, and Lola. Two are currently attending Sacred Heart University and the youngest is in Riverhead High School. He and his family are parishioners at St. John the Evangelist RC Church.
